Hole Process Expert

The Hole Process Expert application automates the entire process of creating holes and hole arrays. Using an intuitive interface, users can model a vast range of hole types with predefined size information. The application allows for true assembly level modeling of holes. Once the holes are modeled with the application, the required drawing information and NC tool paths to manufacture the holes are generated.

Modeling

The modeling module offers an intuitive interface for creating, editing and positioning the holes. Select the hole type, size and positioning and HPE takes care of the rest. The modeling module can be used in either discrete component modeling or assembly design in context. When designing in assembly context, HPE will create the holes through the assembly design in context, optionally using the WAVE geometry linker for associative updates (i.e. counterbore in top-plate, through hole in middle-plate and threaded hole in bottom-plate).

	Drafting
	The drafting module offers the creation of ordinate dimensions, callouts, section view dimensions, labels and tabular notes for the hole features generated by the modeling module.  The drafting module can be utilized in single part files and the 'master model' concept.

 

	Manufacturing
	The manufacturing module generates the NC tool paths for those hole features generated by the modeling module. It automatically selects tooling and generates tool paths with optimization and collision detection.
